Japanese cherry trees, pink trees and American swimming pools: a dreamed spring, from Japan to New York and Los Angeles.
Born from Laurence Litomi's fascination with Japanese cherry trees, Pinky Spring is a series bathed entirely in pink, tender and sun-drenched. Blossoming sakura inspire each composition: pink trees, delicate blooms, a powdery and joyful palette. From this starting point, the artist embarks on a journey to the America she knows from her travels — the skylines of New York, the light and swimming pools of Los Angeles — where pink trees line the facades and the turquoise water of the pools. From one shore to the other, the fragility of petals echoes the sweetness of living and the brilliance of the sun. Hand-painted in natural pigments on aluminium, these works bring freshness, escapism and a spring that becomes a state of mind.
