The butterfly as signature: fragility and metamorphosis.
A poetic extension of The Icons, the Butterfly series places a symbolic butterfly on each portrait. Far from a mere motif, it carries a hidden meaning unique to each work: a tribute, a wink or a memory slipped into the composition. The butterfly speaks of metamorphosis, lightness and ephemeral beauty — that which makes icons more human. Marilyn Monroe, Audrey Hepburn, Steve McQueen, Elizabeth II and Mick Jagger are adorned with a delicate wing, a sensitive counterpoint to the power of the metal. Like all the artist's works, each piece is unique and hand-painted in natural pigments on aluminium.
