Laurence Litomi's work is characterized by the harmony of Full and Empty in a relationship between Subject and Background, Painting and Metal. Born of this Full/Empty duality, timeless icons, historical legends and anonymous characters reveal themselves body and soul in a magnetic double-JE.
Composition: Painting created by the artist using natural pigments and resin on aluminium. Price on request.
Laurence Litomi pays tribute to your loved ones and creates commissioned works from personal photos.
The creation of each portrait is complex
and requires a substantial amount of work.
For the photograph, the artist can organize a shoot with the subject, search through his personal collection of thousands of them, or, for mythical figures, use existing shots. The image is then reworked at length on the computer to retain only the essentials - the quest for emptiness! It is then projected onto an aluminum plate on which the artist creates his work.
During the next stage, she prepares her own colours based on natural pigments that bring the tactile mineral aspect Laurence Litomi seeks. Each colour is unique and cannot be reused in another work. The artist applies the pigments directly to the plate using a brush. The painstaking search for perfect colour harmony is the signature of much of her artistic DNA.
On some works, the artist will add a collage of photographs drawn from the icon’s world.
Litomi finishes the work with a layer of resin, which refines the colours and gives a smooth shiny finish that is the source of all the reflections. Each piece is unique and hand-painted.
